ALTERNATE REALITY (The 10-Minute Version) (2022)

The 10-minute version of this play is a fantasy, sci-fi, comedy/drama with 2 characters (1F, 1M or F).  The script initially received an "Honourable Mention" from Scriptwriters & Co in Bath at one of their 2021 Scratch Nights before being performed on Zoom at a Salisbury Fringe Scratch Night, prior to its publication by Lazy Bee Scripts in 2022. 

ALTERNATE REALITY was subsequently short-listed for Short+Sweet Sydney 2022 and Short+Sweet Dubai 2023 before being selected for production at Short+Sweet Hollywood 2024. The first Short+Sweet Hollywood 2024 performances of ALTERNATE REALITY took place at the Victory Theater, Burbank, LA on 24 and 25 May 2024 and the next on 7 June (as one of the selected semi-finalists)! Sadly Jonathan's play just failed to make the finals but getting to the semi-finals of "the biggest short play festival in the world" out of over 1,400 submissions was a fantastic achievement. Congratulations to the director Carmelita Maldonado, actors Adriana Leon and Chrissi Erickson and everyone else involved! ❤

Following on from the LA production, ALTERNATE REALITY was subsequently shortlisted for Short+Sweet Sydney 2025.

ALTERNATE REALITY (45-MINUTE VERSION) ​(2025)

The 10-minute version of ALTERNATE REALITY was the joint winner of the Playmakers' UNWRITTEN SHOWCASE at Winchester's Theatre Royal on 13 June 2025. As a result of this win, Jonathan was invited to extend ALTERNATE REALITY into a 45-minute play for performance in a double-bill with the other winning play (SOULMATES by Sara Fairclough) on the main stage of the Theatre Royal on 29 August 2025.
